Refer a Friend, Earn $50: Our Renter Referral Reward Is Live

We’re officially launching the $50 Referral Reward program for Austin Second Chance Apartments. If you’ve worked with us before, this is the easiest “thank you” we can put together. If you haven’t, but you know someone who could use the help, this is the deal.

How It Works

Three steps:

1. Tell them about us. Friend, family member, coworker — anyone struggling to find an apartment in Greater Austin. Send them our contact page, our phone number, or just our website.

2. They sign a lease through us. When they reach out, they mention your name. We log the referral. When they sign a lease (standard locating, second-chance locating, or Private Home Rentals — all qualify), the referral is credited.

3. You get $50 cash. Sent your preferred way: Venmo, Zelle, check, whatever’s easiest. Usually within two weeks of the lease signing.

There’s no cap on how many people you can refer. Every successful lease pays out.

Why We’re Doing This

A lot of our best clients come from word-of-mouth. People who’ve been placed after multiple denials, who finally got into a good apartment, who then tell their friends in similar situations. We see it constantly — the friend or sibling or coworker who had no idea second-chance locating was a real option until someone explained it.

The $50 isn’t life-changing money, but it’s a real “thank you” for taking a minute to make the introduction. And on the recipient’s side, it’s often the start of getting them out of the denial-and-lost-fees cycle.

Who Counts as a Referral

The people most likely to benefit from a referral:

• Friends who’ve mentioned being denied multiple times. They’ve been applying cold to the wrong properties and don’t know there’s a better path.
• Family members with broken leases, evictions, or low credit. Especially those who’ve been told “you’ll have to wait years to rent again.” That’s almost never actually true.
• Coworkers relocating to Austin. Newcomers without local connections often benefit from a locator even if they have a clean file.
• Anyone you know who’s spent the last weekend touring on their own and is starting to feel like the search is harder than it should be.

What’s Already Working

Since we soft-launched the program a few weeks ago, the referrals coming in have all looked the same: someone who’d been denied two or three times, didn’t realize there was a way out, and got placed by us within a week of being introduced. Each one a friend-of-a-friend chain.

The $50 reward is a small piece of the reason these referrals work. The bigger piece is that the people you’d refer are already in the situation we specialize in. Connecting them to us costs you nothing, costs them nothing, and changes the next month of their life.

How to Actually Make the Referral

The simplest version:

“Text or call (512) 903-3309 and tell them [your name] sent you. They specialize in second-chance apartments — even with a broken lease, eviction, or low credit. It’s free for renters.”

Or send them straight to our contact page and have them mention you in the form.

The Fine Print

Quick rules:

• Reward is paid after the referred renter’s lease is executed and they’ve moved in.
• The referred renter must mention your name when they first contact us.
• Reward is paid by Venmo, Zelle, or check, whichever you prefer.
• No caps on number of referrals. Every successful lease pays out.
• Reward currently $50 cash per successful referral.
